Wow – 5 years! On 21st July 2017 Wellbeing Homecare Services made its debut, all from a seed that grew in my mind and developed into the amazing company it is now.
It was an idea that seemed way out of reach; just a dream really, but one that was always there in my mind. I had been looking for care for my mum but just couldn’t find the right company. I needed people who showed compassion – who really wanted to care – a company who had kindness at its core and put this above any monetary values. My mum is a very special lady – and we have a very close bond. How could I not find the best possible care for her when she really needed it?
Skip forwards five years and Wellbeing Homecare Services is everything I envisaged and more. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would be so successful. I say ‘we’ because this isn’t a lone venture, Michelle has been by my side since its inception; it is a company built by a team. A team that has grown, developed and learned from right and sometimes wrong choices. In the main, the decisions have been the right ones and taken us all on a journey of discovery. Sometimes the road has been bumpy and I’m sure that will always be the case, but we’re learning something new every day.
Each day brings its new challenges but also its rewards. It’s extremely hard work, exhausting if I’m honest, but we enrich so many lives. We meet people who are strangers, a lot who are anxious and worried about such a life change but before long these strangers are friends, friends who we laugh with – chat with, share secrets and memories with; shop with, visit garden centres with, care for and make it possible for them to stay in their own homes, safe in the knowledge that we will be knocking on their doors with a cheery ‘hello’ and a smile.
Since our inception in 2017, it has been our mission to deliver a high quality, affordable home care service for the elderly and vulnerable who require assistance, so that they are able to remain in the comfort of their own home, with their highest level of independence. Our carefully selected team are passionate about being part of your family and have come across, and understand, all barriers which individuals and their families meet whilst receiving care. We strongly believe that there should be no compromise to how you, or your loved ones, live your lives.
So where do we go from here? The future is looking good – not easy but then nothing worth having in life is. We are responsible for a lot of people out there who have put their trust in us and we won’t be letting them or their loved ones down. We have a duty that grows ever stronger with time. A commitment to people who are now part of the Wellbeing family and their loved ones whose lives are less stressful due to us relieving a little of the pressures put upon them. Old age comes to us all – if we’re lucky – and none of us know quite what challenges that will bring with it.
Wellbeing Homecare Services will continue to thrive – the seed was sown 5 years ago and its grown into a beautiful tree – one that continues to blossom and whose roots are growing ever deeper. The soil is fertile and our branches are spreading wide but we will never outgrow our principles. We will always be friendly, kind, respectful, compassionate and mostly caring.
